Join TOCmedia at the second annual Converge and Create Weekend at Thomas College! This two-day event is for the people and businesses of Central Maine to learn how to increase innovation, entrepreneurial drive, and revenue. Converge and Create Weekend is split into three categories, including start-up, scale, and side hustle, to suit the interests of each attendee.
If you are interested in starting your own business and taking the leap to entrepreneurship, speak with successful business owners who have gone through the process of starting their own business. Already have a business, but want to expand? Learn from area businesses how to retain quality and service while still growing your business. A hobby, trade, or e-commerce business can also be turned into a successful side hustle by knowing the proper techniques and technology to use, which can be discovered through attending the event.
Converge and Create Weekend starts Friday, November 16th at 12:30 PM with registration. The afternoon and evening are filled with informational and inspiring sessions about entrepreneurship and starting a business with opportunities to network with others at the event. The event picks back up Saturday morning with breakout sessions featuring start-up, scale, and side hustle options before the event finishes up at 12:30 PM.
Our very own Tracy O’Clair with be speaking at the Converge and Create Weekend! Tracy will be conducting the side hustle segment of the first breakout session Saturday morning. If you are attending the event, make sure to attend Tracy’s session called Exploring New E-Commerce Ventures.
What is great about Converge and Create Weekend is that it is smaller than other similar events and it is low key. This allows everyone involved to get to know one another and connect on a personal level. Networking opportunities throughout both Friday and Saturday allow you to get to know others with similar passions at the event. The breakout sessions also allow participants and speakers to get to know one another.
The event costs $35 for the public and is free for Thomas College students. Friday night dinner is provided as well as drinks and snacks on both days. If you are interested in attending or want more information, visit www.thomas.edu/create to register or learn more.
